About Targu Secuiesc
Targu Secuiesc is a town in Covasna County, Romania. It administers one village, Lunga. The town turned into first stated in 1407 as Torjawasara, meaning in Hungarian Torja Market. Torja is the name of a movement nearby and is also the Hungarian name of the nearby village Turia. Originally, the Hungarian call Kezdivasarhely become also used in Romanian within the form Chezdi-Osorheiu, however this was altered to Tirgu Secuiesc after the accession to Romania in 1920 underneath the Treaty of Trianon.
The Hungarian native call approach Kezdi Market, Kezdi being the name of a Szekely seat, a historical administrative unit. Its status as a marketplace town dates again to the Middle Ages. The city become taken over through Hungary in the course of World War II, following the Second Vienna Award of August, 1940. Sovereignty was restored to Romania following the struggle. According to the 2011 census, the metropolis had a populace of 18,491. Of the citizens for whom records have been to be had, 91.1% were Szekely Hungarians, 7.2% Romanians and 1.6% Roma.
