About Targu mures
Targu mures is the seat of Mures County in the north-vital part of Romania. It is the sixteenth largest Romanian city, with 134,290 inhabitants as of the 2011 census. It lies at the Mureș river, the second longest river in Romania after the Danube. The first known recorded documentation of the town dates to 1332. It is stated within the papal registry beneath the Latin name Novum Forum Siculorum that means New Szekler Marketplacecitation needed, and beneath the Hungarian name Sekulvasarhel which means Szekler Marketplace in 1349. In vicinity of its Fortress' Church, the Dominican church stood till the Mongol invasion, when it turned into destroyed. In its area, the Franciscans started building a new Gothic-fashion church round 1332, which changed into completed in 1446.
Since 1439 the city became the scene of the periods of the Transylvanian parliament weight-reduction plan 36 instances.
