Tamna is widely known for the timber church, licensed now as a ancient monument, located a couple of minutes faraway from the nearby Church. Last week of October, there is the once a year nearby pageant, where the locals acquire and enjoy dances, song, carnivals and local meals. In addition to it, the Serban Farm, located 200 m in the direction of Bacles from the market can be visited. It holds loads of bovines, goats, sheep and pigs. The commune has four simple faculties placed at Izvoralu, PavaČ›, Plopi and Valea Ursului. After graduating from the primary panel, the nearby students maintain their research through both commuting to a nearby village, Strehaia, located 10 km away or transferring to Craiova or Severin, the nearest towns.
