About St. Nicholas Cathedral, Oradea
The St. Nicholas Cathedral also called Greek-Catholic Cathedral of St. Nicholas It is a Catholic church that serves because the cathedral of the Eparchy of Oradea Mare It is placed in the city of Oradea within the European country of Romania. St. Nicholas Cathedral follows the Romanian Rite Byzantine and is in complete communion the Pope in Rome. Its production started out in 1800, while the Greek Catholic Bishop Ignatius Darabant asked demolish the small Greek-Catholic church in the town and start creation of the cathedral. The production plan is cross-shaped design, vaulted ceiling and a relevant dome painted with biblical scenes. The baroque roof of the tower become finished in 1803 and burned down twice, in 1836 and 1907.
