About Sohatu
Sohatu is a commune in Calarasi County, Muntenia, Romania, together with the Progresu and Sohatu villages. At the quit of the 19th century, the commune changed into a part of the Negoiesti net of Ilfov county and had the villages Dona, Macelaru and Sohatu, with a population of 1105 population.
There was a church in Sohatu, and a mixed faculty. The Socec Yearbook of 1925 records it within the Budesti website of the identical county, having a population of 3425 inhabitants in Progresu, Putu Dimii and Sohatu. In 1950, the commune turned into assigned to the Oltenita rayon inside the Bucharest vicinity, then again to Ilfov County in 1968. In 1981, a regional administrative reorganization led to the transfer of the commune to Calarasi County.
