About Simleu Silvaniei
Simleu Silvaniei is a metropolis in Salaj County, Transylvania, Romania with a populace of 16,066 human beings. Is located close to the historic Dacian fort Dacidava. Before the Roman conquest of Dacia, Simleu became a political, social and administrative Dacian centre, of high significance. Seven Dacian fortresses, some with associated settlements, had been arranged in an arc shape around the hills of Simleu.
They had a strategic function in the supervising the trade along the salt street coming from regions round Napoca, Potaissa and contemporary Dej, and heading to Pannonia.
