About Sebes Lutheran church
The Sebes Lutheran church is a Lutheran fortified church. It is positioned at 5 Piata Primariei within the city middle of Sebes, itself situated in Alba County, inside the Transylvania location of Romania. The church becomes built by means of the ethnic German Transylvanian Saxon network at a time whilst the area belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary.
Initially Roman Catholic, it became Lutheran following the Reformation. It become ultimately rebuilt in Gothic style, fortified and endowed with partitions. An enforcing choir becomes added inside the second half of of the 14th century, during duration of nearby prosperity. During the 17th and 18th centuries, Sebe? have become middle for craftsmen, who worked on extending the church. During World War I, the bells have been confiscated, melted and became munitions; they have been replaced in 1925.
