About Sanpetru
Sanpetru is a commune in Brașov County, Romania, located 5 km north of the county capital Brașov. It is composed of a unmarried village, Sanpetru. This place turned into domestic to many Transylvanian Saxons although after 1989 an awful lot of this community emigrated to Germany. The center of the village changed into constructed by means of this organization and indicates the influence of German architecture. Separate from this there is a crowded Romanian-constructed vicinity presenting a small church and houses relationship as a minimum to the early 19th century. A new middle became constructed in the direction of Brașov at some stage in the communist technology to residence migrating workers for the tractor and bus factories inside the metropolis.
Since the Romanian Revolution of 1989 new, more high priced homes were built at the outskirts of the village, slowly linking it with Brașov. The landmark of the village is the 13th-century fortified church. The authentic three-nave basilica became demolished in 1794. There are still some traces of the original 13th-century art work on the defensive partitions that surrounded the church. The Order of Cistercians received it in 1240. The fortified church changed into severely destroyed throughout a Turkish invasion in 1432.
