About Roses Park

Roses Park, previously called Rosarium, The Park of Culture and Leisure "Stefan Plavat" and The Park of Culture is one of the parks in Timisoara. The park was built in 1891, on the identical time with Children’s Park, at the occasion of the Universal Exhibition, whilst flower arrangements were made here by using gardeners Wilhelm Muhle, Franz Niemetz and Beno Agatsy. The park changed into designed in English style, with alleys, cover, and round areas of roses. During the interwar duration, the park turned into called Rosarium and there were over 1200 categorised types of roses. Also, in this era the open air theater changed into built up. In 1944 the park turned into destroyed with the aid of bomb. After the World War II the park become rebuilt, and plenty of out of doors performances took place there. Also, inside the park there has been a sports stadium, fitted out as an ice rink inside the winter, and as a tennis court.
