About Revolution Memorial Association
The Revolution Memorial Association of Timisoara is an association founded in Timisoara in 1990 in order to maintain the memory of the 1989 Romanian Revolution. The association was distinguished by the construction in Timisoara of 12 monuments devoted to those who gave their life during the revolution. Monuments are erected in the following places: Traian Market Bell, Inga Bridge Decebal Bd.
Tache Ionescu winner, Hotel Continental Evolution opposite the Youth House behind the Museum of Banat, near Church Square Kuttl opposite unit Military in Calea Lipovei, 700 Square, Sfantu Gheorghe Square, near Mihai Viteazul Bridge. Since 2000, as a result of Law 152/2000, the association has been d the manager of the National Center for Documentation and Public Information on the Revolution of 1989. Thus, the association received subsidies from the state budget through the Ministry of Culture, employing about 7-8 people.
At the headquarters of the association is a museum of revolution, with photos from December 1989. The association also has a collection of films about 1989 that can be viewed by visitors. The headquarters of the association are in Timisoara, Emanoil Ungureanu 8 Street. The building has been received by the association in use from Timisoara City Hall for 99 years.
