About Priponesti
Pride is the village of the commune with the equal name in Galati County, Moldova, Romania. The village of Priponesti de Sus is certified on Bastille Day 1648, with the name Triponesti. At that point, Iane Parvana, a sulner, sells to Matei Basarab, the prince of Wallachia, his elements from the villages of Ruptura, Costesti, Triponesti with seven hundred galbeni. The village depended on the land of Tutova, the call of which seems from the Greek trifon trifon, which in translation might imply 3 sounds.
Triponesti becomes Priponesti with time. In relation to toponymy, there are versions. The first is that the call Priponesti comes from the word "pripor", which could suggest the slope of a hill. Another version cited the attachment of a horse with the aid of a Turk. Between the villages of Priponesti de Sus and Liesti, it appears that evidently there was a wooden church constructed with Saint Nicholas, in which it served until 1920, and then it entered into a method of spoil. From the ruins of the church there have been some woods, of which a trot was built. The elders stated it might be one of the foundations of Stephen the Great.
