Plesoiu

Plesoiu is a commune in Olt County, Oltenia, Romania, which include the villages Arcesti, Arcesti-Cot, Cocorasti, Doba, Plesoiu, Schitu din Deal and Schitu din Vale. It is believed that the primary houses seemed in the 13th century and the start of the 14th century, across the church. However, the documentary age is attested within the first a part of the sixteenth century and springs from two files that mention the village of Plesov.

In the second one half of of this century, the word Plesoi appears in an administrative act at some point of the reign of Mihnea Turcit. The village and its population appear greater in detail in a report from 1613, at some point of the reign of Radu Mihnea. Due to the presence of a boyar's mansion on the territory of the commune, in an effort to ensure order and save you conflicts, the Romanian Army deployed patrol and surveillance troops during the 1907 peasant uprising. In April 1922 a monument dedicated to the heroes of the locality become inaugurated. The Plesoiu commune is located at a distance of 13 km from the town of Slatina, the metropolis of Olt County.
