About Palace of Culture
The Palace of Culture is an edifice placed in Ia?i, Romania. The building served as Administrative and Justice Palace till 1955, when its destination turned into changed, being assigned to the four museums these days united under the name of Moldavia National Museum Complex. Also, the building houses the Cultural Heritage Conservation-Restoration Centre, and hosts numerous exhibitions and other occasions. The Palace of Culture is listed in the National Register of Historic Monuments.
Located inside the perimeter of the mediaeval Princely Court of Moldavia, the development was conceived as a rebuilding and enlargement task of the previous Princely Palace of Moldavia, dated to the time of Prince Alexandru Moruzi, and rebuilt with the aid of Prince Mihail Sturdza, from which it preserved the rules and primary floors. It became from this latter constructing that the Palace inherited the legend of the 365 rooms, as many as the days within 365 days. The Romanian architect I.D. Berindei turned into assigned to plot and behavior the rebuilding method. Unlike the old palace, built in a neoclassical style, Berindei chose to layout it in a flamboyant Neo-Gothic fashion.
