About Otelu Rosu
Otelu Rosu is a town in southwestern Caraș-Severin County, Romania, within the Bistra Valley. It is located on the country wide avenue sixty eight, among Caransebes and Hateg. The metropolis administers two villages, Ciresa and Mal. It is located inside the historic area of Banat. The first symptoms of human habitation date from the Paleolithic, in form of primitive equipment. Sporadic remnants from the Neolithic age have been located in the neighbouring areas.
During the wars between Romans and Dacians, the Bistra Valley became the path used by the emperor Trajan in penetrating into the heartland of Dacia. A Roman castrum can be discovered near the cemetery of Zavoi, a settlement close to Otelu Rosu. In the 15th century, throughout medieval times, Otelu Rosu changed into mentioned under the name of Bistra and later with the Hungarian call of Nandorhegy. After the expulsion of Turks from Banat with the aid of the Habsburgs, the location turned into colonised with the aid of Germans. Also, Italians are delivered in to paintings in metalworking industry. Within the Kingdom of Hungary, the metropolis turned into a part of Krasso-Szoreny County from 1881 to 1920.
