Modelu

Modelu is a commune in Calarasi County, Muntenia, Romania, together with the villages of Modelu, Radu Negru, Stoenesti and Tonea. At the quit of the 19th century, the commune turned into named Tonea and become a part of the Borcea locality of Ialomita County and consisted of the villages Tonea, Cadina, Roseti-Clacasi and Gambeta, as well as from the Nacu, Sarbu, Caprareasa, Budulea, Putu of Grind, Potarnichea, Manucu, Ceacanu, Nisipu and Prodanu, with a complete of 1483 population.

There have been a blended college and two church buildings within the commune. The Socec Yearbook of 1925 statistics the commune in the Ciocanesti net of the identical county, having the villages Tonea and Satu Model, with 1913 population; then, in the northern a part of the commune, Radu Negru, Radu Negru village, Stoenesti, with 2416 inhabitants.
