Marzanesti

Marzanesti is a commune in Teleorman county , Muntenia , Romania , which include the villages Cernetu , Marzanesti, Teleormanu and Valea Parului. According to the census carried out in 2011 , the population of Marzanesti commune stands at three,885 inhabitants, down from the preceding census of 2002 , when 4,469 population had been registered. The majority of the population are Romanians, with a minority of Roma. For 5.43% of the populace, ethnicity isn't recognized. From the confessional point of view, most of the people of the population are Orthodox, with a minority of Christians following the gospel. For 5.46% of the population, the confessional club is not acknowledged.

The call of the commune comes from the boyar Marzan who lived between 1824-1888. The estate might cover the floor of the villages of Teleormanu and Marzanesti. Marzanesti commune is run through a mayor and a neighborhood council composed of thirteen councilors. The mayor, Viorel Mihaila , from the National Liberal Party , become elected in 2004.
