Macin

Macin is a city in Tulcea County, inside the Dobrudja vicinity of Romania. Macin is placed inside the north-western part of the Dobrudja area, in Tulcea County. The metropolis is placed on the intersection of the DN22 and DN22D national roads. The DN22 street links it to the Romanian capital, Bucharest and to cities of Isaccea and Tulcea. The DN22D road connects Macin thru a southern course with Tulcea and Constanţa. The metropolis is located on an historical Celtic settlement, named Arrubium.

It become then protected in the Getic polities of Rhemaxos and Zyraxes, then conquered via the Roman Empire, which stationed a cavalry unit on this location among ninety nine and 241 AD. The ruins of the old Roman fortifications, can be seen these days on the pinnacle of "Cetate" Hill. Part of the Bulgarian, Byzantine and later Ottoman Empire, it become protected for some time in the Wallachian and Moldavian voivodates.
