About Jucu
Jucu is a commune in Cluj County, Transylvania, Romania, together with the villages of Gadalin, Jucu de Midoc, Jucu de Sus, Juc-Herghelie and Visea. Juc's domain belonged to the noble circle of relatives of Suki, once one of the richest and maximum influential families in Transylvania. The first documentary memories date lower back to the 14th century. Jucu de Jos seems in documents written in 1314 and Jucu de Sus in 1325.
On the left facet of the Somes River is Jucu Nobil, area of the Suky circle of relatives. Here, in 1332, become the oldest village college in Transylvania. On the other facet of the river, the field of Suky persisted to extend. The noble circle of relatives Suky, of German foundation, got here to Transylvania in the course of the 19th century, and the last survivors of the family died in the 18th century. In Cluj, the circle of relatives owned a residence in which the Petricevich-Horvath Palace became built within the 19th century. The maximum famous consultant of this family was Laszlo Suki 1741 to 1791, benefactor of the Unitarian Church.
