About Halchiu
Halchiu, Heltie, Heltia is the residence of the commune with the same call in Brasov County, Transylvania, Romania. It is part of the Barsa countryside. Tradition locations the beginnings of the agreement someplace between the eviction of the Teutonic Knights of the area in 1225 and the tremendous invasion of the Tartars in 1241.
Then the Fulkun knight collectively with 10 families settled in those places and received the Fortress of Halki from King Andrew II of Hungary to guard it. During the tattoo invasion, the Fulkun knight dies. Not laying down descendants, his complete fortune and "Terra Zek" returns back to the king. The first documentary mention of the village dates from 1377, whilst Brasov and Ţara Barsei are supplied royal privileges. In the subsequent duration, a sequence of territorial disputes occurred among Halchiu and Feldioara. In 1421, after a devastating Turkish invasion, Halki is exempt from tax by the king for 10 years. The commune suffers from other Turkish deserts in 1432 and 1438.
