Gura Teghii

Gura Teghii is a commune in Buzau County, Romania, in the north-westernmost part of the county in its mountain place, close to the restriction of Covasna and Vrancea counties, within the Carpathians. Gura Teghii fabricated from seven mountain villages on the valley of the river Basca and of its fundamental tributary Basca Mica. Mentioned in files starting with the sixteenth century, those settlements have been founded through the yeomen from Sibiciu place, who had owned the ones lands before they had been taken over by using rich boyar landowners. The locals have saved their vintage Wallachian traditions with Transylvanian influences well into the cutting-edge generation.

At first, they bred cattle, then they became coopers and carpenters passing their alternate from generation to era, even as often illiterate. The first faculties inside the commune regarded closer to the end of the 19th century, when a main lumber mill was opened in nearby Nehoiu. Skilled workers from Gura Teghii have been hired in the lumber mill. While a few landowners attempted to start corporations in tourism, however, all through the Communist generation, this pastime went into decline, being revigorated in recent times most effective via some bed and breakfasts.
