Feldioara

Feldioara is a commune in Brasov County, Romania, approximately 15 kilometres from the metropolis of Brașov. It consists of 3 villages: Colonia Reconstructia, Feldioara and Rotbav. At the 2011 census, 88.8% of population were Romanians, 6.9% Hungarians and 3.5% Roma. It has a medieval castle long believed to have been constructed by means of the Teutonic Knights. Between 1211 to 1225, Feldioara became the Teutonic Knights’ area, so one can later come to be a peasant stronghold.
