About Facaeni
Facaeni is a commune in Ialomita County, Romania. Its populace was 5,953 on the 2002 census. The commune is composed of villages, Facaeni and Progresu. Facaeni is located at 44°34′12″N 27°54′00″ECoordinates: 44°34′12″N 27°54′00″E, near the Borcea section of the Danube River and the National Road 3 b. Its neighbored by way of Vladeni to the north, Bordusani to the south, Movila to the west and Topalu to the east.
It has a ferryboat used by farmers and people to get from the village to the Balta Ialomitei the island located between the Old Danube and Borcea segment used solely for agriculture. On the bank of the Borcea there's additionally a small seashore in which locals come to play football and swim. The village's lifestyles has been documented for more than 500 years, but archaeological discoveries show that the region has been inhabited on the grounds that as a minimum the Iron Age. Its name is supposed to return from both the Romanian facau, archaism for mill, or the word flacau that means young guy.
