Damuc

Damuc is a commune in Neamt County, Transylvania, Romania, together with the villages of Damuc, Huquesti and Trei Fantani. At the give up of the 19th century, the territory of the commune was a part of the Kingdom of Hungary in Austro-Hungary, inside which it turned into rounded off to the Gheorgheni district of Ciuc County; the maps of the time do no longer document inside the commune vicinity any village, but the village Damuc become a newly emerged village, within Bicaz commune.

In 1918, Bicaz commune became occupied by way of the Romanian army, a country that claimed Transylvania, and in 1920 the transition to Romania turned into formalized by the Treaty of Trianon. In 1950, the village of Damuc handed into the administration of the Piatra Neamt district inside the Bacau area. In 1968, in the present day structure, the commune of Damuc changed into transferred to Neamt county.
