About Cuca
Cuca is a commune in Argeș County, in southern relevant Romania. It consists of fourteen villages: Baltata, Barbalani, Carcești, Cotu, Crivățu, Cuca, Lăunele de Sus, Macai, Manești, Sinești, Stanicei, Teodoresti, Valea Cucii and Vonigeasa. It turned into one of the maximum remote places in Romania. Today, in Romanian language, Cuca Macaii approach "a far off village or area, very hard to attain. The oldest document about Cuca is from April 3, 1853, regarding an excellent older file, from 1537. The commune became formed in 1968 at its contemporary shape by merging the former communes Cuca and Lăunele. Another former commune turned into Macai.
Cuca is positioned within the Getic Platform, subdivision Cotmeana Platform. The alleviation is segmented by many parallel valleys, whilst the villages are at the top of the hills, separated by means of woodland areals.The rivers drift from North to South, South-East or South-West. The vallies dry up in summer time. The altitude varies from 390 to 530 metres 1,280 to 1,740 ft. The weather is temperate, with moderate summers and cold winters. The humidity is usually massive.
