About Cracaoani
Cracaoani is a commune in Neamt county, Moldova, Romania, which includes the villages of Kracaul Negru, Cracaoani, Magazia, Mitocu Balan and Poiana Cracaoani. At the end of the nineteenth century, the commune was a part of the Piatra-Muntele Neamt County and it consisted of the villages Cracaoani, Kracaul Negru, Magazia and Ghindaoani, with a total of 3639 population. In commonplace, there has been a school, six church buildings, 5 piers for the sumane and two water turbines.
The Socec Yearbook of 1925 statistics it inside the Neamt Fortress of the same county, with 2770 population within the villages of Cracaoani, Cracaul Negru and Magazia. One is assessed as an architectural monument: the Horaita monastery 17th to 19th century from the village of Poiana Cracaoani, which incorporates the church The Baptism of the Lord, the chapel Saint Nicholas 17th century, the kingdom the beginning of the 20th century and the bell tower.
