Chitila

Chitila is a town in Ilfov County, Muntenia, Romania, including the localities Chitila and Rudeni. The locality is in the north-western community of Bucharest, on the go out to Targoviste and Pitesti, being a satellite tv for pc metropolis of Bucharest. According to the 2011 census, Chitila has a population of 14,184, being the 6th urban center of Ilfov County from a demographic point of view.

The locality turned into raised to the rank of town in 2005, at the side of other communes in Ilfov County. At the quit of the 19th century, the Chitila village become part of Bucoveni commune from Snagov, Ilfov County, with 322 population. A sugar manufacturing unit, owned between 1876 and 1881 by Prince Nicholas G. Bibescu, operated in the village and was then sold and re-commissioned by means of the son-in-regulation of Prince Bibescu, Dimitrie Cezianu. In 1931, Chitila have become a commonplace commune, along with Chitila and Trajan.
