About Chiselet
Chiselet is a commune in Calarasi County, Muntenia, Romania, formed handiest from the residence of the equal name. The call of the commune comes from a local boyar, named Ion Chiseliţă, changed to Chiselet in 1918. At the cease of the 19th century, the commune was part of the Olteniţa location of Ilfov County and became fashioned by the villages of Chiselet and Surlari, with a population of 2400 inhabitants, residing in 363 homes and four huts.
There became a combined school, church buildings and a steam thawing machine inside the commune. The Socec Yearbook of 1925 statistics it within the same internet, with 3068 inhabitants in Chiselet-Fundu and Surlaru. In 1950, the commune turned into transferred to the Olteniţa district of Bucharest, and the village of Surlari took the name of the Danube in 1964. In 1968, the commune again to Ilfov County, re-established, and the village of Dunarea changed into dismantled and merged with the village of Chiselet. In 1981, a regional administrative reorganization led to the transfer of the commune in Calarasi County.
