Cherechiu

Cherechiu is a commune in Bihor County , Crisana , Romania , including the villages of Cherechiu, Cheşereu and Targusor . According to the 2011 census , the population of Cherechiu commune has 2,416 population, down from the preceding census in 2002 , whilst 2,483 population had been registered. Most of the population are Hungarian. The primary minorities are Roma and Romanians. For 1.03 percentage of the population, ethnicity is unknown.

From a confessional factor of view, most of the inhabitants are reformed, but there also are Roman Catholic minorities, Baptists and Orthodox. For 1,12 percent of the population, confessional club is unknown. The Cherechiu Commune is administered with the aid of a mayor and a nearby council composed of 11 councilors. The mayor, Alexandru Niri, from the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania , became elected in 2008. Starting with local elections in 2016, the neighborhood council has the subsequent composition on political parties.
