About Carasova
Carașova is a commune in Caraș-Severin County, Romania. It is understood particularly for its geographical placement and for the foundation of its Croatian inhabitants, the Krashovani. The populace of the commune numbered 3,260 human beings at the 2002 census. The commune consists of 3 villages: Carașova, Iabalcea and Nermed. The first time attested in 1323 below the name of Kraso. Other comparable names have been later used, relying on which management used them Karasow - 1333, Nog Carassou and Kyskarassou - 1358, led by the knyaz Bozorad, Krassowcz - 1535, Crassowcz - 1550, Crasso - 1597, Karasevo
1690-1700, Karasova - 1717 and after until 1899 Krassova while it was changed to Krassóvár. Due to the fortress constructed close by, Carașova was within the beyond an crucial administrative, political and spiritual centre. In 1333, Carașova turned into the headquarters of a Roman Catholic diocese which appears to have existed due to the fact 1285, but ceased to exist after the events of 1537, and turned into restored best in 1860, to be disbanded once more in 1913.
