About Campeni
Campeni is a city in Alba County , Transylvania , Romania . As of July 2002 the city had a population of 8,080 inhabitants. The metropolis administers 21 villages: Bonceşti, Borleşti, Botesti Botesbánya Certege Csertes , Coast mistletoe, giving Dealu Bistrii Dealu CAPS hearse, face Abrudului, Floresti Furduiesti, Mihoesti, Motorasti, the valley Bistrii, Bridges, Sorlita, Tomusesti, Bistriţa Valley, Valea Caselor and Varsi. The town has ancient importance as the capital of the "Țara Moților" region. It is believed to be the web site where the Revolt of Horea, Cloșca and Crișan 1784–1785 started out. Horea was born close to Câmpeni within the village that was once referred to as Arada considering the fact that renamed to Horea. His cellar is a vacationer enchantment within the metropolis.
During the Transylvanian revolution of 1848, Câmpeni became the political and navy stronghold of Avram Iancu, a progressive chief of the Transylvanian Romanians' national motion. The Avram Iancu Museum is placed within the metropolis. The town is a local middle for lumber exploitation and the fixtures enterprise. Even even though the city is placed in a mining area the mining industry is not part of its industrial background. Câmpeni is growing in recognition as a tourist middle.
