Brebu

Brebu is a commune in Prahova County , Muntenia , Romania , along with the villages of Brebu Monastery house, Brebu Megiesche , Pietriceaua and Podu Cheii. At the stop of the nineteenth century, the commune had the same composition as nowadays, being inside the Prahova Plateau of Prahova County. It had 3272 inhabitants, a school courting back to the center of the same century, wherein in 1892 they taught eighty one youngsters and two churches: one belonging to the Brebu monastery and any other one within the village Pietriceaua, constructed in 1855 by the inhabitants.

The locals were engaged in agriculture plants of corn and oats, beekeeping, fruit tree cultivation - apples, pear bushes, cherries, nuts, in addition to tailoring and stoning, spreading their products to Campina. In 1925, the Socec Yearbook data the commune with a population of 4995 population, inside the equal Prahova net in Prahova county. In 1938, the commune become found within the Campina place of Prahova County , and in 1950 it become allocated to the Campina district in the Prahova place after which within the Ploiesti vicinity.
