About Bradesti
Bradesti is a commune in Harghita County, Romania. It lies in the Szekely Land, an ethno-cultural place in japanese Transylvania. The commune consists of villages. Until the reorganization of the system of the nearby management of Transylvania in 1876, the village belonged to the Udvarhelyszek, then, from 1876 till 1918, to Udvarhely County in the Kingdom of Hungary. After the Treaty of Trianon of 1920, it have become part of Romania.
The Treaty of Trianon changed into the peace agreement of 1920 that officially ended World War I among most of the Allies of World War I and the Kingdom of Hungary, the latter being one of the successor states to Austria-Hungary. The treaty regulated the repute of an independent Hungarian kingdom and defined its borders. The commune has an absolute Szekely Hungarian majority. According to the 2002 census it has a population of 1,908; of which 98.64 percentage or 1,882 are Hungarian.
