About Bodesti
Bodesti is a commune in Neamt County, Moldova, Romania, inclusive of the villages of Bodesti, Bodestii de Jos, Corni and Oslobeni. At the cease of the 19th century, the commune become called Bodestii Precistei, it was part of the Piatra-Muntele Neamt county and it consisted of the villages of Bodesti Precista, Oslobeni, Corni, Strambi, Bordea and Dumbravile, with a total of 2810 population. In the commune there were seven water mills, two beans for sumans and four churches.
The Socec yearbook of 1925 records it inside the Piatra community of the equal county, with 3844 inhabitants in the villages of Bodestii de Jos, Bodestii de Sus, Bordea, Cornii-Strambi, Dumbravele and Oslobeni. In 1950, the commune turned into transferred to the Piatra Neamt district of Bacau, and in 1964 it was named Bodesti. In 1968 he back to Neamt County, re-established. At that time the village Dumbravele become abolished, and Bodestii de Sus village became named Bodesti.
