About Biharia
Biharia is a commune in Bihor County, northwestern Romania. It is composed of villages, Biharia and Cauaceu. In 2011 it had 4,205 population, of whom 85.87 percentage had been Hungarians, 12.12 percentage Romanians and 1.73 percent Roma. The village is first referred to in 1067 as Byhoriensis, later as Bychor in 1213, as Bihar in 1332, and once more, in 1349 as Byhor. It has a complex political history with periods of the Kingdom of Hungary, Eastern Hungarian Kingdom and the Principality of Transylvania.
After the destroy-up of Austria-Hungary, in 1920, the commune became a part of the Kingdom of Romania. In 1940, due to the Second Vienna Award it changed into lower back to Hungary. Since the give up of the World War II it has been a part of the Romanian nation. World War II, additionally called the Second World War, changed into a worldwide war that lasted from 1939 to 1945.
