About Bata
Bata is a commune in Arad County, Romania, in the historic area of Banat. The commune lies inside the contact quarter of the Lipovei Plateau and the huge deep valley of the River Mureș, respectively inside the Branișca-Pauliș Couloir. It is composed of 4 villages: Bacău de Mijloc Bakamezo, Bata situated at 67 km from Arad, Bulci and Tela. The first documentary file of the locality Bata dates lower back to 1367 as “Kethbata”. The antique Turkish "bata" manner "drinking area" and the Hungarian “keth” way "two". The first recorded call, therefore, intended " ingesting locations. Bacaul de Mijloc changed into first mentioned in 1717 as “Bacomesso”. It became the Hungarian name of village which means Baka's area, as until 1551 it became the ownership of the Baki own family.
In Romanian, its call become at the beginning "Bakanczea", and have become Bacăul de Mijloc when it have become a part of Romania in 1919. Bulci become first attested documentarily in 1225 as Bulch. The call derives from the Hungarian and become a personal name in the early Middle Ages. In 1225, the village already had a Benedictan monastery. In 1233, King Andrew II of Hungary mounted its salt tax in 5000 zuan.
