About Banu Church
The Banu Church (Romanian: Biserica Banu) is a Romanian Orthodox church situated at 9 Banu Street in Iasi, Romania. It is devoted to All Saints' Day. The primary church on the site was worked of oak bars in 1704 by the considerable boycott Savin Zmucila, and had its own particular burial ground. His title is the wellspring of the moniker. It was honored by Metropolitan Misail that year, and it was devoted to the Dormition of the Mother of God. Rather than different holy places in the city that had a place with outside temples and held formalities in Old Church Slavonic or Greek, administrations at Banu were in Romanian by Romanian ministers from the earliest starting point, halfway in indication of challenge.
From at an opportune time, the congregation had significant books and protests, some from Moldavia and others from abroad. By 1799, the city's improvement had made the congregation too little for its needs, and it was in decay. A planner was enlisted from Transylvania, fabricating a structure in the Great Russian style. This has all the earmarks of being the most established church in Iasi that says the designer's name on the engraving: Herr Leopold. The cut linden iconostasis is crafted by Eusta?ie Altini, who additionally painted it in 1802. Early the next year, he started painting the congregation inside, yet the work stayed deficient upon Stamati's passing that March.
