About Armenian Church
The Armenian Church is an Armenian Apostolic church situated at 22 Armeana Street in Iasi, Romania. It is devoted to the Virgin Mary. It is known for sure that the congregation was re-established in 1803. The engraving found on an old block in the transept, which incorporates the date 1395, has offered ascend too much editorial that has not revealed insight into the working's earlier presence. The Armenian people group utilized neither the Julian nor the Gregorian dating framework at the time, and neither did the Romanians, prompting the conclusion that the engraving is a later fabrication.
Nonetheless, beyond any doubt Armenians constructed a congregation in Iasi, committed to the Dormition of the Mother of God, in the fourteenth century. It seems to have existed in 1583-1586, when it drew the consideration of an outside guest. As per custom, the neighboring Saint Sabbas Church was based on the site of an Armenian church taken by the Romanian Orthodox. A second Armenian church, devoted to Saint Gregory the Great, consumed in 1827. Around 1830-1832, an old Armenian burial ground existed behind the Vulpe Church. It was utilized for the individuals who kicked the bucket amid pandemics and couldn't be covered around the city holy places.
The congregation has three ringers, of which two are dated. A little one has a Latin engraving from 1607, and a bigger one is composed in Old Church Slavonic in 1887. Repairs were done in 1732, 1803 (from the establishments), 1929-1932 and, following World War II assault, 1946. The congregation is recorded as a notable landmark by Romania's Ministry of Culture and Religious Affairs, similar to the neighboring Armenian atheneum, worked in 1932 and now utilized as the area house.
