About Adamclisi
Adamclisi is a commune in Constanta County, within the Dobrogea area of Romania. In ancient times, a Roman castrum named Civitas Tropaensium was settled here and in 109 AD a monument named Tropaeum Traiani become built to commemorate the Roman Empire's victories over the Dacians. Colonized with Roman veterans of the Dacian Wars, the town turned into the largest Roman metropolis of Scythia Minor and became a municipium within the 12 months a hundred and seventy. Destroyed by means of the Goths, it turned into rebuilt in the course of the rule of thumb of Constantine the Great with higher shielding walls, which defended the city efficaciously until the Avars sacked it in 587.
