About Wlodawa
Wlodawa is a city in Poland at the Bug River, close to the borders with Belarus and Ukraine. It is the seat of Wlodawa County, situated inside the Lublin Voivodeship considering the fact that 1999. As of 2011 it has a populace of 14,800, Wlodawa become first stated in ancient facts in 1242. The first written mention of the town in an Old Slavonic chronicle which speaks approximately Prince Daniel staying there, escaping from the Tartars in 1241. In 1446 to 1447 the encompassing territories have been annexed into the Duchy of Lithuania and the river Wlodawka marked the border among the Duchy and the Polish Crown.
In 1475, Michal and Aleksander Sanguszko acquired the city in change with the Polish King Casimir IV Jagiellon. For the subsequent 100 years the city became the home for the Sanguszko family. They built their citadel here and developed the metropolis's prosperity. The Sanguszko profited from the border crossing which turned into bringing proper profits. In 1534 the metropolis obtained town rights, showed in 1540. At that time the influx of the Jewish population began, which promoted commerce and crafts.
