About Wachock Abbey
Wachock Abbey is a cistercian abbey in Wachock, Poland. Located close to the larger metropolis of Starachowice in the Swietokrzyskie Mountains of south eastern Poland, Wachock is first-rate recognized for the structure of this Roman Catholic site. The abbey became based via Cistercian clergymen, who came to the place within the overdue 12th century. The Cistercians had a reputation for administering the building sites for abbeys and cathedrals and made it a factor of honor to recruit the great stonecutters. Today, the interiors of the abbey continue to be well-preserved and the buildings themselves are identified because the most treasured monuments of Romanesque architecture in Poland.
The abbey itself is thought to have been founded in 1179, based on the few extant records from the technology. It is further presumed, at the proof of a stone escutcheon of Gadka. Bishop of Krakow, with the aid of the entrance to the later-constructed church on the grounds that he turned into the main founder. The church, devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Florien, turned into completed prior to the Tatar Invasion of 1241.
