About Sztum
Sztum is a town in northern Poland in the Powisle place, positioned inside the Pomeranian Voivodeship. It is the capital of Sztum County, with some 10,141 population. Signs of agreement courting back to the Roman Empire technology were located. In the early Middle Ages, a fortified agreement of the Prussian humans existed at the site, conquered through the Teutonic Knights in 1236. City rights were granted to the settlement in 1416.
In 1466 the city with different western Prussian territory exceeded to the crown of Poland as a part of Royal Prussia. As a part of Poland, the town functioned as a seat of Sztum powiat in Malbork Voivodeship and a place to keep nearby court sessions. In 1635 the Treaty of Stuhmsdorf became signed in the village of Stuhmsdorf. In 1772 at some stage in the time of the First Partition of Poland the town have become a part of the Kingdom of Prussia. In 1871 it have become a part of the newly created German Empire.
