Swiebodzin

Swiebodzin is a metropolis in western Poland with 21,757 population 2004. It is the capital of Swiebodzin County. Since the Local Government Reorganization Act of 1998, Swiebodzin has been a part of Lubusz Voivodeship. It became previously a part of the Zielona Gora Voivodeship 1975–1998. The town's name is stated to be derived from the Polish personal name Swieboda, related to swoboda which means freedom.
