Staszow

Staszow is a metropolis in Poland, in Swietokrzyskie Voivodship ancient province of Lesser Poland, about 54 kilometers southeast of Kielce and 120 km northeast of Krakow. It is the capital of Staszow County. The population is 15,108 which make it the 8^th biggest urban center of the province. The area of the metropolis is 26, 88 km². And its two rivers are the Desta and the Czarna Staszowska. Staszow coat of hands is the Korab, historic symbol of several noble families of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The name of the town comes from ancient Slavic given name Stanislaw, which inside the 13^th and 14^th centuries turned into used in diminutive form Stasz.
