About Sierpc
Sierpc is a town in Poland located inside the Masovian Province, on the Sierpienica River at its mouth to Skrwa, approximately 40 km north of Plock. The seat of the Justice of the Peace of the Sierpc district. According to information from December 31, 2018, the town had 17,962 inhabitants. In the years 1975 to 1998 the metropolis was administratively a part of the Plock province. Founded in 1322 as a non secular metropolis in the Sierpc poviat of the Plock province, municipal rights showed in 1389, whilst Sierpc became a non public belongings. The terrain on which the town is located suggests that a long time ago a lake stretched right here.
Already, however, for the year 400 BC, the stays of human settlements on this area are dated. The origin of the metropolis became probably the region of accommodation for tourists crossing the thick forests of the amber route from Pomerania to the south. Already in the 10th century, Sierpc turned into a sizable city there are references to the parish erected in 1003 and the construction of a church in the vicinity of a pagan temple. In the 12th century there was a trade honest as soon as every week.
