Sieradz

Sieradz is a city on the Warta river in central Poland with 42,762 inhabitants. It is situated inside the Lodz Voivodeship, but became formerly the eponymous capital of the Sieradz Voivodeshi, and traditionally one of the minor duchies in Greater Poland. It is one of the oldest cities in Poland, thrice being a place for the coronation of the Polish monarchs. The town become attacked via the Tartars, Bohemians and Teutonic Knights. Polish Kings chaired six assemblies from right here. The oldest settlements can be traced again to almost 6^th century. Centuries later, king Casimir the Great built the Castle of Sieradz. In the mid 13^th century it became conferred with Municipal rights.

It had also welcomed many settlers from Scotland & Netherlands after the 13^th century. During the fragmentation of Poland, it changed into the site of the Duchy of Sieradz. In 1445 the election of King Casimir Jagiellonian befell at this town. Until the 16^th century the city was once critical change centre. Merchants from Spain & Portugal were regularly journeying the metropolis for Trade and trade. In the 17^th century because of the Swedish wars, plagues, fires and floods the town lost its buying and selling importance and fell from its prime. In the 18^th century the reconstruction of town started.
