About Siemiatycze
Siemiatycze is a town in north-eastern Poland, with 15,209 inhabitants. It is located inside the Podlaskie Voivodeship; formerly it turned into in Bialystok Voivodeship. It is the capital of Siemiatycze County. The records of Siemiatycze dates again to the mid-16th century, while the village became a part of the Podlasie Voivodeship of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. In 1542, King Sigismund II Augustus granted metropolis charter to Siemiatycze, and with the 1569 Union of Lublin, it became a part of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. For centuries Siemiatycze remained property of numerous Polish-Lithuanian multi-millionaire households.
The town, comfortably located along the Bug River, and near neighborhood administrative centers at Drohiczyn and Mielnik, became a famous market vicinity, where farmers bought their produce. Disastrous Swedish invasion of Poland did no longer deliver giant destruction to Siemiatycze. The town endured to prosper, at the cost of different municipalities of the location of Podlachia, all of which burned to the floor by using the Swedish, Transilvanian and Russian invaders.
