About Ryki
Ryki is a town in Poland alongside National Road number 17, among Warsaw and Lublin. It has 9,767 populations as of 2007. Situated in the Lublin Voivodeship because 1999. It is the capital of Ryki County. Ryki belongs to Lesser Poland, and traditionally is part of Ziemia Stezycka the Land of Stezyca and historic county, the best part of historic Sandomierz Voivodeship which turned into located on the right financial institution of the Vistula River. The town lies in northwestern nook of Lublin Voivodeship. The distance to the Polish capital is 100 km, the gap to Lublin 64 km.
Its name first seems in documents in 1439 as Riki. The first city center of this part of Lesser Poland was located in Sieciechow, whose parish church managed areas both east and west of the Vistula. In the 14th century, Sieciechows importance diminished and within the mid 15th century, the County of Stezyca becomes created, as a part of Sandomierz Voivodeship. The royal village of Ryki which belonged to the County of Stezyca, become first referred to in 1424. In 1570, Ryki had a wood church of St. Jacob the Apostle, in addition to a parish faculty.
