About Rumia
Rumia is a city within the Eastern Pomerania location of north-western Poland, with some 45,000 inhabitants. It is a part of the Kashubian Tricity and a suburb part of the metropolitan region of the Tricity. It has been located in the Wejherowo County in Pomeranian Voivodeship seeing that 1999; previously it become in Gdansk Voivodeshi. Traditionally, Rumia is associated with Kashubia. It is hooked up by nicely-advanced railway and motorway connections to the Tricity, an city agglomeration of over 1 million inhabitants at the coast of Gdansk Bay.
The village of Rumia turned into first referred to in 1224 whilst it was awarded by Swantopolk II, later duke of Eastern Pomerania to the Cistercian convent in Oliwa. The name of Rumia changed into applied also to the neighbourhoods of Janowo and Biala Rzeka. In 1285 Mestwin II, duke of Pomerania stopped here to trouble respectable documents. It fell to the State of the Teutonic Order in 1309 consistent with the Treaty of Soldin.
