About Oliwa Cathedral
Gdansk Oliwa Archcathedral is a congregation situated in Gdansk, Oliwa area; devoted to The Holy Trinity, Blessed Virgin Mary and St Bernard. The archcathedral in Oliwa is a three-nave basilica with a transept and a multisided shut presbytery, completed with a wandering. The facade is flanked by two slim towers, 46-meters tall each with strongly edged protective caps. It is excited by a Baroque entry from 1688, and in addition three windows of ious sizes and three cartouches. The intersection of the naves is ignored by a ringer tower, an ordinary component of the Cistercian design.
The basilica is 17.7m high, 19m wide and 107m long 97.6m of the inside itself, which makes it the longest Cistercian church on the planet. It holds centerpieces in Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and Classical style of incredible aesthetic esteem. All the 23 sacrificial stones of the house of God are of awesome authentic esteem. They are fundamentally Baroque and Rococo, mostly made of marble.
Their iconography portrays the fundamental standards of the post-Trent church. Most exceptional are the present High Altar 1688, which is the most significant Baroque gem in Pomerania; and the Netherland Renaissance style sacred place, which until the point when 1688 assumed the part of the primary one. The works of art in the sacrificial tables, presbytery and fundamental nave were made by the well known seventeenth century specialists: Herman Han 1574– 1628, Adolf Boy 1612-1680, Andrzej Stech 1635– 1697 and Andreas Schlutera 1660– 1714.
