About Nisko
Nisko is a metropolis in Nisko County, Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Poland on the San River, with a population of 15,534 inhabitants as of 2 June 2009. Together with neighbouring metropolis of Stalowa Wola, Nisko creates a small agglomeration. Nisko has been located in the Subcarpathian Voivodship because 1999. Nisko became first mentioned in a report dated 15 April 1439, wherein King Wladysław III of Varna exceeded the villages of Nysky, Zaoszicze and Pyelaskowicze to a neighborhood nobleman.
Furthermore, Nisko became also noted by Jan Dlugosz, in his paintings Liber beneficiorum dioecesis Cracoviensis. The established order of the village turned into probably the end result of catastrophic Mongol Invasion of Poland, which decimated the population of Lesser Poland. Residents of burned villages and cities resettled inside the regions north of the enormous Sandomierz Forest. Probably within the 2nd half of the 13th century, a village become mounted on a hill near the San river.
